Family businesses aren't a sure thing. Some last for many decades, while others disintegrate when the second or third generation members take the helm. One family business that's gaining strength as the years go by is the diamond business of the Samuelson family of Baltimore, Maryland.
1922
Samuelson's opened by Milton Samuelson located at 902 Pennsylvania Avenue.
1972
Store relocates to Corner of Baltimore and Paca Streets.
Ron Samuelson (Steve's Son) was born.
2007
Ron launches the DiamondFans fanpage. Currently, one of the top jewelry pages on facebook with over 1.3 million fans.
2009
Ron and David relocate the retail showroom to 419 West Baltimore Street (its current location), for the next step of Samuelson's Diamonds evolution.
2012

Samuelson's Diamonds recognized by City Paper as Baltimore's Best Jeweler
1963
Steve Samuelson joins his father Milton in the business.
1994
Ron graduates from Emory University in Atlanta while studying alongside some of the largest diamond dealers in the south. He joins the family business and within six months becomes Samuelson's Diamonds top salesman.
2004
David Dannenbaum (Steve's son-in-law and Ron's brother-in-law) joins Samuelson's Diamonds.
Changed domain name to
www.BaltimoreDiamonds.com.
2008
Featured as the "Best Place to Buy an Engagement Ring" – Baltimore City Paper.
Ron Featured in the Wall Street Journal.
2011
Samuelson's opens jewelry buying office in Washington, D.C. www.SamuelsonsBuyers.com.
Featured as one of the best jewelry stores in Baltimore by CBS Baltimore.
