Every day, we are getting questions from customers about our store, and if we are ok. Well, we are here to say that thankfully, we are doing great, and we LOVE our hometown of Baltimore. The last two weeks have been a little stressful, but Samuelson’s has made a commitment to Baltimore, and we are financially and emotionally invested in the city.

Samuelson’s Diamonds in The Baltimore Sun

We were featured in two articles. In The Baltimore Sun’s article titled, “Slow Recovery From Riots Expected,” we had a great spread and owner Ron Samuelson was quoted:

“I don’t think what’s happening now is much of a comparison to what happened back then,” said Ron Samuelson, 42, the third-generation owner of the jeweler, which has been in business since 1922. “It’s troubling to hear about … but we’re certainly positive about Baltimore. … I’m not worried.”

Please click here to check out our feature in the jewelry trade magazine and website JCK, titled, “Baltimore Businesses Look Forward After Unrest.” A quote from owner Ron Samuelson:

“We are committed to Baltimore and staying downtown,” he says. “We just remodeled our store, and the family has other properties and development projects in the area. I think we are the only jeweler left in downtown Baltimore. Everybody else has moved out to the suburbs. But we are committed financially and emotionally to this city…

The best thing we can do, and anyone who wants to help Baltimore can do, is to support local businesses,” he says. “People say, ‘What can I do, can I go to a cleanup, can I give money to a local charity?,’ and I think the best thing is to come down and show that you support Baltimore city, that you will go out and shop, that you will go to restaurants, that you are not afraid and will support local businesses.”

So we are here and we want to thank our customers for supporting us. As Ron said – the BEST thing you can do is come downtown and SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESS!
